Grow Fresh Shiitake Mushrooms on Your Countertop

Grow  gourmet Shiitake mushrooms at home - no gardening experience or special equipment required. Each kit includes a fully colonized, ready-to-fruit Shiitake block and its own mini greenhouse to maintain the humidity mushrooms need to thrive.

Shiitake mushrooms are prized for their rich, savory flavor and satisfyingly meaty texture. They’re delicious sautéed, roasted, added to stir-fries, soups, ramen, pasta, and countless other dishes.

Everything You Need Is Included

  • Ready-to-fruit Shiitake mushroom block

  • Reusable growing tray

  • Clear humidity dome

  • Spray bottle

  • Easy-to-follow growing instructions

Easy and Fascinating to Grow

Soaking the block in cold water for 8–12 hours, remove the plastic bag, place inside the tray, and cover it with the humidity dome. Keep your kit somewhere with indirect light and away from heating or air-conditioning vents.

Mist the inside of the dome 1–3 times per day to maintain a visible layer of condensation. Small brown pins typically begin appearing within 3-10 days. Once the mushrooms begin growing, remove the dome and mist the Shiitakes directly 2–3 times per day.

Harvest when the caps have opened and become slightly rounded, while the edges are still curled underneath.

Once your block has finished producing, simply add it to your garden or compost pile.

Perfect for curious beginners, home chefs, gardeners, families, and anyone who wants to experience the fun of growing fresh Shiitake mushrooms at home.
